Hello gardeners! Welcome to June. Many of you have seen bees in our school gardens. Bumble Bees, Honey bees and Blue Orchard Bees. What is an Orchard Bee? That is what we are going to discuss today.

1. In paper straw like tubes or in holes in wood or old stalks from plants
2. She collects mud and creates cells where she lays an egg and stores pollen.

4. She flies from flower to flower sipping nectar and collecting pollen on the hairs on her body.
5. She uses the nectar and pollen to create a tasty treat for her larvae to eat when hatched.

7. The bee visits many hundred of flowers to collect pollen and in doing so transfers the pollen to other flowers which is pollinate. This helps the fruit and nut trees, berries and vegetables to make the food we eat.
